Project overview
Vessel is an American lifestyle brand offering vaporizers, protective cases and smoking accessories. As part of the design team at Somos Volt, I created the imagery for its campaigns over the course of a year: defining the visual direction for each one, presenting it to the Creative Director and producing the final images.
Challenge
Each campaign needed its own setting and mood while still feeling like Vessel. With no photography to work from, only 3D product renders, every environment, texture and light source had to be built around the product.
Approach
I started each campaign from the product itself — its color, its finish or the story behind the launch — and built the scene around it: icy landscapes, wet leaves, autumn forests, draped fabric. Through compositing and retouching, I matched light, shadow, perspective and depth of field so each render would sit in its scene like a photographed object.
